Creating and KIRating in the era of Covid-19.

So, yeah, I’ve been busy. It’s true. But….I can’t stop. Won’t stop. KIRating.

Creating has always been my jam. I love to create. But, since my name is Kirsten, I call it KIRating. So, I am creating and KIRating in the era of Covid-19. Now, how can one rationalize KIRating in the era of Covid-19? Easily! We’ve all got plentiful time to KIRate. With social distancing practices in place and WFH for the past few weeks there is ample time to create. When it comes to creating I call it KIRating and say… can’t stop. Won’t stop. Even in the Coronavirus or Covid-19 era, maybe now more than ever, step away from the Netflix and get KIRating!

But, I get it. We’ve all been trying to keep busy! I really do get it. I need a break from watching Tiger King too. So what am I doing? You know it. I’m KIRating in the era of Covid-19.

Because it has been a while since I posted here you might think I’ve stopped. But, I’ve never stopped creating, I just haven’t posted my creations….

Update on Quarantine Life: The #QL Dress Code

Updates on Quarantine Life #QL- from KIRa V at KDbyKV – March seems like it was so long ago! I wore “real pants” for an in person meeting in early March. Now, I’m wearing day pajamas and night pajamas. My day outfits consist of leggings and sweatpants and Zoom ready tops for all the days with meetings. PQ, (Pre-Quarantine) I used to wear scarves. In #QL I “dress it up” with a bandanna, worn John Wayne, “wild west” style.

Update on Quarantine Life: #QL Zoom Happy Hour

I have a weekly virtual happy hour on Zoom with friends. We started dressing up in themes for the happy hours. First it was fave Tiger King character, the next week it was “OTG” an Off the Grid theme. There was lots of cammo and hunting gear. This week was show up as a character from a tv show or movie.

Update on Quarantine Life: The New Hire, aka #theintern

Updates on Quarantine Life #QL- from KIRa V at KDbyKV -in case you didn’t know I “hired” an intern. #theintern is my 14 yo nephew. I hired him when he was 14, now he is 15. He is a freshman in HS. #QL is hard for #theintern too.

#theintern misses his friends.

#theintern celebrated his 15th birthday while on Quarantine.

#theintern blew out his birthday candles with a hairdryer, to keep his fam Covid free.

#theintern misses his teams.

#theintern has “tons” of homework and is not happy to be distance learning.

On a whim….I recorded a Quarantine Cooking show and posted it on YT. I know. I’m no Ina Garten….nothing complicated happens in my kitchen….I do what I can with what I have. I just posted Episode 3 this week. This episode is called “Breakfast: It’s whats for dinner.”

The Journey Begins

Welcome to my FIRST Blog, thanks for joining me!

This is my blog….I am delighted to be here. I have lots to share so let’s get started!

Since this is my first blog I will start at the beginning! Creating is my jam. I wouldn’t call myself a crafter. I have never dropped a whole paycheck at Michael’s or JoAnn’s. I took a few art classes when I lived in NYC. I took a metal smithing class when they used to offer it at the Y in Midtown. I loved shopping for silver wire and rods in the garment district and turning it into hand made bracelets and rings. Oh the sodering! How fun. I actually also love stringing beaded jewelry. Especially, bracelets and necklaces. I have dropped tons of money buying beads all over the world. When I was a corporate gal I worked in advertising. So I like telling stories, figuring out solutions, bright colors, bold graphics and I love a good spreadsheet!
